Because the mushroom carries the chemicals in itself, it would be logical for it to constantly float but since it is a mushroom, it is attached to the soil, so maybe the constant upward-pull could be the reason why the mushroom behaves so strangely. As soon as the mushroom is torn from the soil, a new mushroom develops in the same place with a Plop sound.
